The State Antimonopoly Service under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development jointly with specialists of the Health Ministry will inspect facilities selling face masks (respirators) used by people in connection with the spread of the A/H1N1 virus on Nov. 12.
"Inspections aim to eliminate facts of artificial deficit and price rise for respirators due to the demand increased recently," the ministry reported on Nov. 11.
The relevant measures will be taken on facilities violating the rules.
So far, Azerbaijan has reported 14 swine flu cases and majority of them were revealed on Azerbaijani citizens arriving abroad and one British citizen.
All medical facilities belonging to the Azerbaijani Health Ministry have upped their security due to the swine flu. The ministry has given instructions to medical personnel around the country to take preventive measures in their institutions and check all persons registered at each local clinic.
The first shipment of a vaccine against the A/H1N1 virus will be delivered to the country in November. Vaccination will be carried out among people at risk group.
