The fourth meeting of the standing meeting of the CIS finance ministers will be held in Moscow April 1.
Economy Ministers and heads of the CIS central banks will participate in it.
"Two issues, including the status of the national economies of the CIS countries and implementation of joint measures taken by the Commonwealth countries to solve the consequences of the global financial crisis in 2009-2010 will be discussed at the meeting," the Executive Committee chairman, the CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev said.
This document was approved by the Presidents at the CIS summit in Chisinau in October last year and approved by the heads of governments in Yalta in November 2009.
"The plan includes the whole range of activities, urgent and forward-looking ones. A meeting of the expert group to examine possibilities for greater use of national currencies of the CIS countries in mutual export-import transactions was held in the CIS executive committee in Moscow March 10, " Lebedev said.
Representatives of eight Commonwealth States and the Interstate Bank attended it. The experts discussed a number of issues, in particular, improving the legal base, providing quotations of national currencies and conversion mechanisms at the multilateral level, international payments in local currencies with minimal risks in real-time, implementation of mutual payments and settlement system on the basis of the Interstate Bank in practice. According to Lebedev, the work of the expert group still continues.
Other cooperative measures envisaged by the plan are eliminating of interstate barriers in mutual trade, coordinated protection of domestic markets of the CIS countries from unfair competition from businesses of third countries, a coordinated policy to support industries, food market and other commodities.
"It is important that the system of actions corresponds to current trends in the global economy, including the decisions made within the "twenty" given specification of the Commonwealth countries, the head of the executive committee said.
He said that the Presidents and governments of the Commonwealth countries to pay close attention to joint actions to solve the global crisis. This topic was discussed in details during the recent meetings of the Council of Presidents and Heads of governments of CIS countries. It was also in the center of attention of the CIS Economic Forum participants, held in Moscow March 5.
"Actions taken in time, helped to overcome the most acute phase of crisis", Lebedev said.
The CIS Statistical Committee said that economic growth of the key factors was observed in all countries of the Commonwealth in January 2010 compared to 2009. For example, growth of GDP was 9.2 percent in Azerbaijan, Belarus - 1,3 percent, Tajikistan - 4,2 percent. On average, the industrial production growth in the CIS was 8 percent.
Lebedev said that despite the trends of improving the economic situation, the crisis has not been overcome yet.
"Today, it is important not to weaken joint efforts to overcome its consequences. Heads of the financial and economic departments of the CIS countries will speak about it at a meeting in Moscow April 1. There is no doubt that the consolidated actions of the Commonwealth in the economic and financial sphere will help to quickly overcome the consequences of the crisis and stabilize the economy of the CIS countries", Lebedev said.
