The total volume of industrial production (the volume of production and rendered industrial services) amounted to 16.9 billion manat in the first six months of 2013 by 0.3 percent more than in the same period of 2012, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported today.
"Azerbaijan's non-oil sector showed an increase by 2.9 percent during the indicated period and the oil sector decreased by 0.3 percent," the report says.
According to the report, a significant growth was observed in production of footwear and leather goods, car and other vehicles, computers and electronic equipment in Azerbaijan's non-oil sector in January-June 2013.
The volume of production in extractive industry amounted to 12.5 billion manat, with the specific weight of 74.1 percent in the whole industrial production, during the reporting period, which is by 0.9 percent less than in the same period of 2012.
The volume of oil production in January-June 2013 amounted to 21.8 million tons and natural gas production - 8.9 billion cubic meters. The oil production decreased by 1.6 percent compared to the same period of 2012 but gas production increased by 0.3 percent.
The volume of production in the processing industry amounted to 3.36 billion manat with the specific weight of 19.9 percent in January-June or by 9 percent more than in the same period of 2012. The production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam have not been changed. Water supply, waste purification and processing increased by 6.3 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
