Azerbaijan's Garadagh Metal Constructions Plant plans to produce 35,000-40,000 tons of metal constructions this year, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Plant Rufat Sujayev told Trend.
He said that the monthly production volume at the plant is about 3,000-5,000 tons.
Sujayev noted that the work to improve product quality is underway, and new technologies to be used. "We want to be competitive in quality and price, and reduce imports," he added.
Having said that the plant intends to start export to other countries, Sujayev added, ‘"We are trying to export our products to the countries of Central Asia such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, because the logistics costs there are low. The plant continues to participate in foreign tenders, and we plan to take part in tenders in Syria, Iraq and Kuwait."
However, in January-April this year, the products were not exported, as the plant met the needs of the domestic market, he said.
Garadagh Metal Constructions Plant located in the Garadagh district in Baku is engaged in the production of metal structures for the construction of industrial enterprises, business centers, warehouses, plants, factories, shopping malls and big markets.
The plant, which currently employs 750 people, opened in 2012. Its production area covers 23,000 square meters.
The plant participated in the construction of many large facilities in the country including, among others, Baku Olympic Stadium, the building of the State Oil Fund, an agricultural park in Shamkir region, various livestock farms and enterprises.
