Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 June / Trend corr E. Ismayilov/ Presently, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) supplies about 1.2-1.3mln cu m of its own natural gas to Georgia, the Government reported on 9 June.
SOCAR intends to supply some 600mln cu m of gas to Georgia this year. In October, the company will expand supply to 7mln cu m.
The Government did not divulge the cost of the supplied gas. However, it is supposed to be higher than last year. In 2007, Azerbaijan was supplying SOCAR's gas to Georgia at the price of $120 per 1,000 cu m, but this year the price is expected to be raised to $180-$190 per 1,000 cu m.
Georgia purchases a part of gas from Russia at $235 per 1,000 cu m.
SOCAR produced gas by itself.
