A parallel work between the energy resources of aezrbaijan and Russia is very important for both countries, in particular for providing of the south of Russia with energy, Russian Energy Minister Sergey Shmatko told a 35th meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council in Baku.
"We believe there are good opportunities for parallel operation of our energy resources," Shmatko said.
There is every reason to anticipate the high efficiency of our energy systems, due to the fact that they are complementary to each other technologically. At today's meeting is scheduled to discuss the issue of construction of additional power networks between Azerbaijan and Dagestan to increase the energy production, Shmatko said.
"Also scheduled to discuss improving the reliability of our energy systems" the minister said.
The sides also intend to discuss the creation of new power generating capacity in the two countries, and especially hydroelectric power.
