EIA: Oil production increases in non-OPEC countries

Oil production by non-OPEC countries amounted to 42.56 million barrels per day for four months of 2011, which is 0.13 million barrels per day more than the production at the same period of 2010, U.S. State Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its monthly energy review.

The EIA says world oil production over the first four months of 2011 amounted to 74.149 million barrels per day compared to 73.58 million barrels per day at the same period of last year.

Last year, world oil production, according to the EIA, hit 74.052 million barrels per day, 42.426 million barrels of which accounted for non-OPEC countries.

Oil production by OPEC countries, according to the EIA, for four months of 2011 amounted to 31.59 million barrels per day, which is 0.43 million barrels per day more than the same period of 2010.

The highest level of oil production among OPEC member countries was observed in Saudi Arabia - oil production level in the country amounted to 9.038 million barrels per day during this period compared to 8.489 million barrels per day during the same period of last year.

Last year oil production in OPEC countries amounted to 31.6 million barrels per day.
According to the EIA forecasts, world oil production will amount to 87.7 million barrels per day in 2011, 35.41 million barrels of which will account for OPEC's share, while 53.03 million barrels per day - non-OPEC countries.
