Turkey terminates the contract for the natural gas supply from Russia via the so-called "western route" through Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria, Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said Saturday, Anadolu Agency reported.
Earlier this week, Yildiz said that Ankara may not to extend the gas deal with Russia signed 25 years ago and still in force if Moscow does not revise the price of natural gas supplied to Turkey.
Turkey is the second largest importer of Russian hydrocarbon resources.
Agreement on supplies of Russian natural gas to Turkey via the so-called "western route" was signed in 1986. It expires in December this year.
