The Tajik government will consider the issue of country's power sector restructuring in May 2013, Tajik energy agency told Avesta. In particular the government will consider the issue of state energy holding Barki Tajik restructuring.
According to the source, a special program has been developed on this issue, which is at the stage of coordination with other ministries, agencies and the government of the Republic.
"The restructuring program envisages division of Barki Tojik in three companies: generating, transmission and distributing. Total restructuring of Barki Tojik will be implemented in three phases and will be completed by the end of 2015, " he said.
According to the source, the restructuring may end with the company privatization.
"However there is no consensus on this issue so far, both among the appropriate agencies and industry experts," he said.
