BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 29. In October 2023, Azerbaijan experienced a 5.53 percent reduction in its gas exports to Türkiye compared to the same period in 2022, dropping from 760.97 million cubic meters to 718.91 million cubic meters, Trend reports via Türkiye's Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
Azerbaijan secured the second position in natural gas exports to this country during the reporting period.
Russia emerged as the leading exporter, supplying nearly 1.986 billion cubic meters in October 2023, marking a two-fold increase from the corresponding period in 2022.
Meanwhile, Algeria claimed the third spot with a shipment of 448.98 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas, reflecting a notable growth of 29.17 percent compared to October 2022 (347.60 million cubic meters).
Throughout this timeframe, Türkiye witnessed a 3.71 percent overall increase in gas imports compared to October 2022, rising from 3.238 billion cubic meters to 3.358 billion cubic meters. Of this total, pipeline supplies accounted for 2.833 billion cubic meters, while LNG constituted 525.09 million cubic meters. Türkiye’s pipeline gas imports surged by 18.98 percent, whereas LNG imports experienced a decline of 38.74 percent compared to October 2022.
