BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 10. The Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan has high energy potential for the construction of hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 4,200 MW, said Shabdan Abdyraiym, the deputy plenipotentiary representative of the president in the Naryn region, at a business forum in Moscow, Trend reports.

Abdyraiym also highlighted the region's potential for wind energy, with the possibility of developing wind stations with a capacity of up to 1,700 MW.

He noted that the Naryn region is the largest by area in the country, and industrial zones with all the necessary infrastructure are designated for the construction of manufacturing enterprises. The region shares a border with China, and a significant portion of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will pass through Naryn.

The official also emphasized that the entire region operates as a Free Economic Zone (FEZ), offering a range of tax and customs incentives to investors. The influx of tourists continues to grow annually, making the tourism sector an attractive area for investment.

"Over the last two years, Naryn has attracted three times more foreign investments than in the previous three decades," he said.

He further noted that the most valuable and priority investors for the region are Kyrgyz entrepreneurs.

The business forum, organized by the Kyrgyz and Russian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, took place on March 5-6 in Moscow.
