Azerbaijan, Baku, 8 May/ corr. Trend J.Babayeva /TheAzerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will complete the dismantlement of the first television broadcasting tower in the country, the Ministry reported.
The height of the tower erected on steel blocks in 1956, reaches 180 meters.
The 68-meter of tower was dismantled in the first quarter, while full dismantlement will be completed shortly, the ministry said.
The construction of the television centre began in Baku in 1953. Following the installation of the tower in Baku in 1956, black and white broadcasting was commenced on 14 February of the same year.
