ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 20. Kazakhstan is ready for close cooperation with major energy companies from the Gulf countries, particularly in the field of green energy, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said, Trend reports.

He made the remark during the summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Central Asian countries in Jeddah today.

“Projects with Saudi company ACWA Power, Emirati company Masdar, and Qatari companies appear promising. At the same time, the Central Asian countries possess more than 30 billion tons of proven oil reserves and over 20 trillion cubic meters of gas. This makes the region the world's second-largest in terms of hydrocarbon resources, following the Arabian Peninsula,” he said.

At the same time, Kazakhstan, as a participant in the OPEC+ agreement, highly values cooperation with the member countries of the Organization and is ready to enhance comprehensive interaction.

Furthermore, Kazakhstan pays special attention to modernizing and developing new generating capacities, attracting advanced experience and technologies in the field of geology and extraction, as well as promoting modern petrochemical industries.

“Recently, at the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, I proposed holding an International Energy Forum in Kazakhstan. We invite oil and gas exporters from the member countries of the Council of Cooperation to participate in this event,” President Tokayev added.
