ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 9. Turkish Eren Holding is ready to study potential projects in Kazakhstan to make appropriate investment decisions, said the head of the holding, Akhmet Eren, during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, Trend reports.
"We are looking to expand and are looking at new investment opportunities. These could be areas such as paper production, energy, and textiles. We are also ready to invest in the mining and metallurgical complex. We have technologies that allow us to do high quality work. In this regard, we would like to jointly consider investments," he said.
In turn, Alikhan Smailov noted that the government of Kazakhstan highly appreciates the holding’s intention to invest in projects in the republic.
According to him, today, over 4,000 companies with Turkish capital already operate in Kazakhstan. In particular, projects have been launched in such industries as the mining and metallurgical complex, infrastructure, food industry and pharmaceuticals.
"I am confident that the existing degree of special trust between our countries and the common desire for cooperation will allow us to open up new prospects," he added.
From 2010 to 2022, trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and Türkiye strengthened 3.4 times, reaching $6.3 billion. The main growth occurred in the last two years, almost doubling since 2020.
In the structure of trade with Türkiye, about 75 percent is occupied by exports from Kazakhstan - $4.8 billion, where the main goods are oil and oil products, copper, zinc, aluminum, lead, etc.
