Turkish company to build US$ 42 million sturgeon breeding complex in Turkmenistan

(Turkmenistan.ru) - Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov has approved the decision of the tender commission of the State Committee for Fisheries and the conclusion of the expert commission on announcing the Turkish "AVKA Yapi Sanayi we Dis Tijaret Limited Sirketi" a winner of the international tender. It will have to design and construct under the "turn-key" terms a complex on breeding of sturgeons and production of fish production at Kiyanly port, Balkan province. The State Committee for Fisheries of Turkmenistan acts as the project's customer.

As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports with reference to the press service of the head of state, the main purpose of the initiative is to provide for preservation and reproduction of the relict fish fauna of the Caspian sea and to increase wide range of high quality fish production.

Under the US$ 41.800 million contract, the construction is to be launched in October this year, and the complex is to be commissioned in May 2008, reports Trend.
