By a decree of President Islam Karimov, the executive director of the Children's Sport Development Foundation, Abdulla Achilov has been dismissed, a government source told Trend. Achilov is also simultaneously dismissed as Deputy Minister of Education.
The causes of Achilov's dismissal have not been disclosed.
The Children's Sports Development Fund of Uzbekistan was established in 2004 under the Education Ministry. The Fund's activity is aimed at carrying out state policy on the development of material, technical and resource base of children's sports, involvement with businesses, domestic and foreign sponsors, non-governmental and public organisations and international financial institutions to achieve this goal.
Chairman of the Foundation's board of trustees is Uzbek President Islam Karimov.
