Russian Volkswagen Group Rus company will consider the possibility of launching production of electric cars in Uzbekistan, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.
Uzbekistan was visited by a delegation of the company that unites the work of seven brands of the Volkswagen concern in Russia, headed by CEO Stefan Mecha.
At the meeting held by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the guests were informed about plans to develop the production of Euro-5 fuel in the country. In particular, they talked about the operation of the Uzbekistan’s GTL plant and the reconstruction of the Bukhara oil refinery.
The delegation was also acquainted with the projects for development of renewable energy sources in the country. The parties also discussed promising joint projects.
Volkswagen Group Rus LLC is a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, which was established as a result of an investment agreement signed on May 29, 2006.
