TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 21. The value of gold exported by Uzbekistan amounted to $8.2 billion from January through November of 2023, Trend reports.
As per data by Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, the recorded number reflects a 2.3 increase compared to the same period of 2022, when the value of exports stood at $3.5 billion.
At the same time, the share of gold in Uzbekistan's total exports increased from 19.9 percent to 35.1 percent in the eleven months of 2023.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the price for a gold ingot of five grams in Uzbekistan has reached the mark of 4.24 million soums ($343.9).
As per data by Uzbekistan’s Central Bank, the set price of gold is currently as a new maximum level since the beginning of sales in 2020.
One gram of gold in Uzbekistan is currently estimated at 847,920 soums ($68.78), which is 1.2 percent increase compared to last week’s calculations.
