TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 13. Uzbek consumers illegally used electricity and gas in 995 cases in January this year, Trend reports.
The data from Uzenergoinspeksiya (the inspectorate for control over the use of electricity, petroleum products, and gas) shows that 20.4 million kWh of electricity and 47.3 million cubic meters of natural gas were looted last month. As a result, the state suffered damage worth 94.5 billion soums ($7.6 million).
Uzenergoinspeksiya added that its employees conducted 24,969 preventive measures in all regions of Uzbekistan, and as a result, 937 administrative cases were registered for violation of the energy resources use rules.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's power stations generated 258.6 million kWh of electricity on December 13, 2023.
The country's Ministry of Energy said that consumers were supplied with 252.6 million kWh of electricity during this period.
