This morning an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted Iranian Kokhkuluya and Boyurahmad provinces near the Sisakht town, IRNA reported.
The Seismological Center under the Tehran University's Geophysics Institute registered the quake at 02:28 local time.
There are no reports on the number of possible casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
