Salehi calls for expansion of Iran, China ties

Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in a meeting with deputy speaker of Chinese National People's Congress here underlined necessity of accelerating expansion of relations between the two countries, IRNA reported.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Tuesday, Salehi in a meeting with Chen Zhili, by referring to the important stances of the two countries, said that Iran and China can be two complementary economies for each other.

He added that for accelerating the speed of expansion of ties and creation of grounds for deepening ties, the obstacles in the way should be removed.

Referring to the 40th anniversary of establishment of ties between Iran and China, which is to be commemorated in both capitals soon, Salehi said that the two countries should take advantage of the opportunity and introduce their own capacities to each other.

Chen Zhili, for her part, said, 'I completely agree with your stances and friendship between Iran and China has a long history and there are many positive reasons for developing ties between the two countries.'

The Chinese senior parliamentarian called Iran and China two important countries in international and regional arena whose cooperation will be effective for stability and peace in Asia and in the world.

She added that policy of developing ties with Iran, especially cooperation in the field of energy, is a sustainable and strategic choice for China and Iran is a sincere friend of China.
