Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi believe the UN chief Ban Ki-Moon must remain impartial towards global issues or he would lose his credibility on the international scene, Mehr reported.

Salehi has called on Ban Ki-moon to avoid considering the interests of certain countries while dealing with international matters.

Salehi was reacting to the U-N Secretary General's interview with the Washington Post on Iran's nuclear program.

The paper quotes Ban Ki-moon as saying that Iran could use negotiations as a cover to build nuclear weapons.

The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon - something that Iran denies.

The Islamic Republic has on numerous occasions stated that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, using nuclear energy for medical researches instead.
