Daily gasoline production in Persian Gulf Star Refinery (PGSR) will reach 40 million liters by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21), the refinery’s director of operations said.

“Daily gasoline production at the refinery will reach 40 million liters by the end of this year,” Soroush Ziglari said, ISNA news agency reported recently.

President Hassan Rouhani inaugurated phase 1 of the refinery in March 2017. On June 28, the second phase was launched in a ceremony attended by the president in the country’s southern port city of Bandar Abbas.

With the inauguration of the second phase, the refinery’s production of Euro-5 gasoline doubled, rising from 12 million to 24 million liters a day.

Once all of its three phases come into operation, the refinery’s daily production capacity will reach 36 million liters a day of Euro-5 gasoline as well as 14 million liters of light and heavy diesel, 3 million liters of jet fuel, more than 4 million liters of gas condensates, 130 tons of solid sulfur, and 425 tons of hydrogen.

The third phase will come online at the end of the current Iranian calendar year, Ziglari said.

With the launch of the third phase, 40 million liters of gasoline will be produced on a daily basis, he added.
