TEHRAN, Iran, April 1. Iran's Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian announced the beginning of the construction of new large dams in the country, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.
Ali Akbar Mehrabian says that the water storage capacity of the country's dams will reach 60 billion cubic meters in the next 4 years.
"Currently, the construction of 7 dams in Hormozgan province, 5 dams in Sistan and Baluchestan province, and the construction of several dams across the northern coast of the country are on the agenda," said the Minister.
Mehrabian also stated that in the second half of the last Iranian year (September 2021 to March 2022), the government made all efforts to open every stagnant and semi-complete project in the country's water sector.
