Israel is declining and the US support for Tel Aviv is of no effect, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday, reported IRNA.

Mottaki made the remarks in a joint press conference with his counterpart from Ghana, Akwasi Asei-Adjei.

As to the recent repeated visits to the region by US officials, he said one of the main objectives of these visits is to create discord among the regional states.

Promotion of presence of the US forces in the region, support for insecurity and instability in Lebanon, and preventing settlement of the Lebanese crisis are among other objectives of the visit to the region of the US authorities, Mottaki added.

All these objectives are aimed to attract support for the illegitimate Israeli regime in the region, he added.

On Iran-Ghana relations, he said the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to boost all-out ties with all African states, including Ghana.

Asei-Adjei said the African continent is in need of good friends, such as Iran.

Expressing his concern over the low level of Tehran-Accra trade exchanges, he expressed the hope that his current visit to Tehran would help open a new chapter in bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Praising Iran's valuable experiences in the areas of exploration of oil and gas, he voiced his country's readiness to bolster bilateral cooperation with the Islamic Republic in the areas of oil and gas and agriculture industry.

He also appealed for construction of power plants, dams, railways, and auto factory in Ghana by the Iranian state and private sectors.
