The pro-Syrian Shiite movement Hezbollah
Wednesday blamed Prime Minister-designate Fouad Seniora for
"non-justified" delay in efforts to form the new cabinet.
The party's stand was outlined in a statement by its parliamentary bloc
after a meeting under its chairman Mohammed Raad.
"It is the duty of the premier-designate to speed up efforts to form the
cabinet," it stressed.
The statement also called for the speedy adoption of the election law approved
in Doha.
Newly elected president Michel Suleiman appointed Seniora on May 28 to form a
national unity cabinet, but so far all attempts has failed due to deep
differences between the anti-Syrian ruling majority and pro-Syrian camp headed
by Hezbollah.
Christian anti-Syrian leader Samir Geagea called on president Suleiman to
sponsor a national dialogue to tackle the deteriorating security situation and
charged that Michael Aoun, leader of the Christian Free Patriotic MOvement and
a supporter of the Hezbollah-led opposition, was the main obstacle in forming a
new cabinet.
"Aoun believes he is the sole representative of the
Christians, and all Christian parties should adapt," Geagea said, according to dpa.
