Turkey reveals gasoil transshipment indicators for 9M2020

Around 631,670 tons of gasoil were transshipped through the ports of Turkey from January through September 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

During the specified period, 39,939 tons of gasoil were transported through the ports of Turkey by ships flying the Turkish flag, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 591,731 tons, said the ministry.

The ministry noted that 3,932 tons of gasoil were transited via the ports of Turkey over the reporting period.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 270.5 million tons from January through September 2020.

Over the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 21.7 million tons of goods.

In the past nine months of this year, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying their countries' flags made up 10 million tons, while ships flying the flags of other countries – 238.7 million tons, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, more than 54.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2020, the volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 31.1 million tons. In this month, ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2.7 million tons of cargo.

Cargo transshipment via the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags amounted to 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 27.4 million tons.

Over 6.2 million tons of goods were transported in transit through the Turkish ports in September 2020.
