Discussion of Conflicts in Territory of GUAM Countries at U.N. Session Planned for 6 November

Discussions of the conflicts in the territory of GUAM countries at the U.N. 61st session is planned for 6 November, Trend reports with reference to the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.

At present, the Council of GUAM Foreign Ministers is continuing with the preparatory work for the debate. Such decision was made by the Foreign Ministers of GUAM countries

( Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) at the last meeting held in New York with the participation at the U.N. 61st session.

The GUAM Foreign Ministers mentioned the necessity to study the co-operation in the peacemaking activities and instructed the national co-ordinators to work on concrete proposals.

During the meeting, the representative of Georgia, Deputy Foreign Minister Valerie Chechelashvili was elected the Secretary General of GUAM, and the permanent representative of Azerbaijan in the organization, Advisor of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ukraine Sabuhi Temirov was confirmed for the post of co-ordinator of the program for economical co-operation. Azerbaijan assumed the role of the co-ordinator of the working group for emergency issues and transport.
