Babayeva/ The Opposition bloc Our Azerbaijan will support Eldar Namazov, head of the public forum For Azerbaijan, during the presidential elections to take place on 15 October. The bloc reported to Trend on 30 May that Our Azerbaijan's Council of Chairmen has passed a declaration in this connection.
In 1993-1999, Namazov was the Presidential Assistant and the head of the Presidential Secretariat.
"The platform of the presidential candidate Eldar Namazov coincides with the intensions and interests of the Our Azerbaijan bloc," declaration says.
The bloc called on the national forces and public organizations, operating in Azerbaijan, to make a right choice and to support Namazov as the unified opposition candidate.
Our Azerbaijan was established during the presidential elections period of 2003 to support Musavat party's chairman Isa Gambar. Later Musavat left the organization. At present, Our Azerbaijan unities 8 parties.
