The U.S. is actively working with Russia to allow international monitors into Georgian occupied territories, U.S. Ambassador to Georgia John Bass said to Ereti Radio.
"The U.S. and other parties constantly remind Russia of the responsibilities taken in August 2008," the ambassador declared. "Two months ago in Geneva we reminded Russians of our expectations with regard to the implementation of these responsibilities."
He also said it was "important" that there were international monitors in Georgia.
"It is very important for maintaining stability in Georgia," Bass said.
