Global answers and multilateral government forums are needed to overcome the global problems and challenges, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Partnerships with Middle East, Central Asia Rashid Khalikov said at the official opening ceremony of 6th Baku International Humanitarian Forum.
He noted that the UN Secretary General reaffirms his commitment for the UN to repair broken trust.
Khalikov said that all the participants gathered at the Forum to discuss the critical issues faced by the world.
UN Assistant Secretary-General reminded that 134 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance worldwide, and UN and its partners have requested $25.3 billion to support people facing humanitarian crises.
He said that the topic of the Forum is very important for shaping a new world.
