Ukrainian company may take part in nuclear power plant building in Uzbekistan

JSC Turboatom may take part in the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

The possibility of the Ukrainian enterprise's participation in the energy project was discussed at a meeting of Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Alexey Kucher and representative of the Uzbek Embassy in Ukraine Bakhodir Ibragimov, the report said.

It was noted that the total cost of the nuclear power plant construction project in Uzbekistan reaches $1 billion, and the duration of its implementation is from 7 to 10 years.

Director General of Turboatom Viktor Subbotin, who also attended the meeting, acquainted representatives of Uzbekistan with production capabilities of the enterprise. He stressed that there are 20 nuclear power plants of built by Turboatom working all over the world without emergency stops.

During the meeting, Ibragimov noted that Ukraine has unique experience and developments in energy sector and expressed interest in cooperation with Ukraine in the nuclear power plant construction.

Turboatom is the only manufacturer of turbine equipment for hydro thermal and nuclear power plants in Ukraine. The geography of supplies of the company covers 45 countries in Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
