Economic Research Centre NGO Announces Inflation in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 8 May / Trend corr. U.Ismayilova / The inflation rate is 26.41% per year in Azerbaijan, Gubad Ibadoglu, Head of the 'Economic Research Centre' NGO stated.

Ibadoglu stated that the inflation rate made up 13.03% from January to April (19.66% -foods, 6.67% - nonfoods and 4.27% - services).

The index of consumer prices totaled 3.12% in April and 2.92% in Baku. The prices for foods have increased by 4.23%, 1.96% - nonfoods and 1.95% - services within a month.

The index of consumer prices in the regions made up 3.39%. Prices for foods have increased by 3.88%, 2.50% - nonfoods and 3.22% - services.

According to experts, the prices for greens have decreased by 68%, eggs - 19%, potatoes - 4.5%, cucumber - 3.7 % and apples 3.2%.

The prices for lemon have increased 130%, rise -30%, bread - 22%, beer -20.93%, validol -18.75%, concrete -12.3%, flour -12.25%, meat -12.20%, and seasonal dress for children - 40%.

The minimum consumer basket for efficient population made up AZN 113.18, as well as AZN 68.01 - foods, AZN 21.18 - non-foods and AZN 23.99 -services.

According to the State Statistic Committee, the inflation rate averaged 16.5% from Jan to March.
