Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 May / Trend corr E. Ismayilov/ Azerbaijani Transport Ministry plans to complete construction of a bridge over Baku Bay within five years, Spokesperson for Transport Ministry Namig Hasanov said on 20 May. The project is being negotiated and the financial issues are being discussed.
The bridge is expected to connect two sides of the Baku Bay (Bail and Zikh settlements) and to discharge Baku transport infrastructure.
"This year Azerbaijani public budget allocated AZN 162mln for transport development. Taken jointly with foreign investments the sum totals AZN 500mln," Hasanov said.
According to the Spokesperson, about AZN 4bln is expected to be spent within 5-year program on development of transport system in Azerbaijan.
