Azerbaijan increased commodity exports by 688.29 percent or $41.69 billion in 2008, the State Statistics Committee said. Exports totaled 47 $billion in 2008.
Commodity imports increased by 25.38 percent or $1.44 billion and hit $7.16 billion.
Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with 141 countries.
Roughly 2,120 commodity items were exported and 5, 890 items - imported.
The total trade turnover amounted to $54.91 billion in 2008.
