The compulsory insurance of vehicle owners' civil liability (CIVOCL) has increased by 14.2 per cent taking it to 30.8 billion soums in January-September 2011, the CIVOCL fund dues said on Monday.
As of early October, nine insurance companies: Uzagrosugurta, Kafolat, Uzbekinvest, Alfa Invest, Kapital Sugurta, Asia insurans, Alskom, Universal Sugurta, and Ishonch all offered this type of insurance.
The average premium for each policy amounted to 25,000 to 31,400 soums for some companies. In general, average premiums amounted to 26,700 soums on the market (it increased by seven per cent compared to the same period of last year).
Insurers have issued more than 1.152 million insurance policies since early 2011 or six per cent more compared to the same period of last year. The liability to insurers increased by 15 per cent amounting to 5.811 trillion soums.
Insurance companies have met 3849 insurance claims, a growth of 7.6 per cent totaling 4.657 billion soums an increase of 22.4 per cent. They turned down 92 claims which is 51.7 per cent more compared to January-September 2010, taking it to the sum of 128.7 million soums which is 52.3 per cent respectively. The average amount of payments per insurance claim on the market amounted to 1.2 million soums, which has grown by 20 per cent.
The Uzbek law on the Mandatory Civil Liability Insurance of Vehicle Owners came into force in October 2008.
