Azerbaijani companies exported non-oil goods worth $122 million in July 2018, which is 4.3 percent higher than the same period in 2017, according to the Export Review published by the Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication.
Excluding oil and gas, Azerbaijan mainly exported cotton yarn ($16.4 million, increased 7.3 times for a year), cherries ($11.2 million, 51.35 percent increase), gold ($7.8 million, 20.4 percent decrease), polyethylene ($7 million, 16.67 percent increase) and methanol ($6.6 million, 10.6 percent decrease) in July 2018.
Turkey ranks first among importers of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products in July 2018.
In the period, goods worth $35.2 million were exported to Turkey, which is followed by Russia ($33.3 million), Switzerland ($8.9 million), Georgia ($7.3 million) and Kazakhstan ($5.8 million).
In January-July 2018, Azerbaijan exported non-oil products worth $969.5 million (a 13-percent increase for the year). During the reporting period, tomatoes were the main non-oil product exported abroad.
In January-July 2018, Azerbaijan exported tomatoes worth $144.1 million. Tomatoes are followed by gold ($68.5 million), polyethylene ($57.3 million), elecricity ($56.9 million) and cotton yarn ($44.7 million).
According to the report, in January-July 2018, Azerbaijan increased exports of electricity (by 2.2 times), fruits and vegetables (by 19 percent), aluminum and aluminum products (by 16 percent), cotton yarn (by 32 percent), plastic and plastic products (by 14 percent), chemical industry products (by one percent) compared to the same period last year.
Russia ranked first among importers of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products in January-July 2018. In the period, goods worth 353.2 million were exported to Russia, which is followed by Turkey ($215.3 million), Georgia ($81.3 million), Switzerland ($78.3 million) and China ($29.1 million).
