Uzbekistan increases exports of fruits & vegetables to Russia

Uzbekistan has significantly increased direct exports of fruit and vegetables to Russia, Trend reports referring to EastFruit portal.

In the period from January through April, 2020, supplies of Uzbek fruits and vegetables to the Russian market increased by 42 percent compared to the same period in 2019 and reached $25.6 million.

Export of greenhouse tomatoes to Russia - 19.3 percent of total export revenue - has brought the greatest revenue to Uzbek exporters.

Cabbage accounted for about 13.8 percent of the revenue and lemons for about eight percent.

There was a sharp increase in exports of fresh cauliflower and broccoli during this period - 2.3 times at once. Export of Uzbek prunes to the Russian market has also increased very sharply, by 75 percent.

Export of Uzbek dried apricot to Russia has increased even more significantly - five times. This allowed Uzbekistan to take the second place in the ranking of suppliers of these dried fruits to Russia after Turkey during this period.

In addition, exports of Uzbek frozen fruits to Russia increased three times, and exports of fresh carrots - 3.5 times.
