The value of the products exported from the Zanjan Province (western Iran) is many times higher than the average value of Iranian exports, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Zanjan Province Nasser Faghfuri said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
The chairman said that at present, the value of the province's exports is $1,431 for each ton.
Faghfuri added that however, this figure is $308 for each ton at the country level.
Iran's Zanjan Province exported 250,000 tons of products worth $359 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), he said.
"The trade turnover of Zanjan province was over 12 million positive balance. The province's foreign trade last Iranian year exceeded $705 million,”he said.
Faghfuri stressed that currently, 83 percent of the province's exports belong to the industrial sector.
“The exported products from the province were mainly zinc ingot, electric cable, transformer, iron wire, profile, palm and raisins, dairy products, lead ingots, rubber products, fruit juice, etc.,” he said.
He added that 66 percent of the products produced in Zanjan Province are exported to Turkey and 13 percent to Iraq.
The chairman said that at present, 13 countries have been added to the list of countries to which the province exports its products.
