The land is being prepared for cotton sowing in Turkmenistan’s Akhal region, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.
Some 34,000 hectares of arable land will be prepared for cotton crops in the Geokdepe district of Turkmenistan's Akhal region. The necessary amount of phosphorus and organic fertilizers have been added to the land of future plantations.
All the necessary equipment was prepared for the beginning of the next arable season: tractors and tillage cultivators in the Ak bugday district of the same region. During the current preparation of land for sowing, 56 arable tractors are concentrated in cotton fields.
In the Kaka district, 60 units of arable equipment are involved in plowing, which will prepare 23, 400 hectares of arable land for sowing cotton.
Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.
In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.
According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan
Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
