Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture is currently in the process of developing the concept of the National Project for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex for the next five years, Agriculture Minister Saparkhan Omarov said, Trend reports citing the press office of the government.
The minister said that the main principles of the National Project will be the continuity and stability of state support measures with the introduction of counter obligations for business.
To date, an active discussion of the concept of the National Project is underway with representatives of agribusiness, science and other interested parties.
“We plan to present the draft concept at the site of Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurship in the first ten days of February and then, after approval by all stakeholders, submit for Government’s consideration," Omarov said.
The minister also noted the need for active participation of regional akims (mayors) in the preparation of this document, including in the development of measures and in the indicators identification, given that the main responsibility for the National Project implementation will depend on the regions.
Based on the results of discussions on the concept, a National Project will be developed, the deadline for adoption of which, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, was determined in July 2021.
At the same time, the National Project is to be considered at the Supreme Council for Reforms under the President of Kazakhstan no later than in June 2021.
