Iran is now able to design and build turbines and generators, Esmail Namazi, the director-general of Research and Construction Office of Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH) said.
"The construction of the power plant in Iran has started with using foreign parts. Before the Islamic Revolution, power plants were built, operated and repaired by foreign specialists,” Esmail Namazi, the director-general of Research and Construction Office of Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH) said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Namazi noted that after the Iran-Iraq war and the imposition of sanctions, foreign turbine companies refused to supply parts for their own made power plants in Iran, and this led the country to manufacture parts domestically.
“The installed capacity of power plants in the country increased 12 times after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979,” he said.
Regarding the rate of a power outage in our country, Namazi added that "Iran's record in power outage is acceptable. The world average outage per subscriber is seven to eight minutes and this figure in Iran is 20 minutes per subscriber."
“100,000 MW of power plant are to be repaired in next Iranian year (starts on March 21, 2021). The repairs of the power plant will start from the beginning of October and will continue until the end of May next year,” he noted.
