Value of Iran’s non-oil exports to Kazakhstan increasing

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Iran has increased its non-oil exports to Kazakhstan by 10.6 percent in value in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), reaching $124 million, Trend reports.

However, the volume of exports decreased by 11.7 percent to 305,000 tons in the same period, according to the data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Meanwhile, Iran’s non-oil export to Kazakhstan was around 345,000 tons worth about $112 million in the same period previous year.

During the mentioned period, Iran mainly exported agricultural and food products, tobacco products, petrochemical products to Kazakhstan.

In the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran exported about 34,200 tons of non-oil products worth $19.4 million to Kazakhstan.

Overall, Iran’s non-oil exports reached $32.2 billion in value and more than 90 million tons in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023).

Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1.6 percent, while the volume increased by 27 percent.

Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
