In January-March, SOCAR's oil and gas departments extracted 13.4 million barrels (1.82 million tons) in offshore and onshore fields of the country compared to about 13.21 million barrels (about 1.18 million tons) in January- March 2009, SOCAR said.
About 3.2 million barrels fall to joint projects of SOCAR with foreign companies. About 540.200 barrels fall to operating companies. About 2.34 million barrels fall to "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli", 321.200 barrels fall to gas condensate from Shah Deniz field.
In January-March SOCAR received about 1.94 billion cubic meters, compared to about 2.1 billion cubic meters during the same period of last year. SOCAR's oil and gas departments extracted 1.77 million cubic meters of gas. Joint ventures and operating companies which produce natural gas onshore delivered SOCAR 16.3 million cubic meters of gas in January-March.
Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) extracted 804 million cubic meters of associated gas in the field "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" in January-March for SOCAR compared to 1.05 billion cubic meters during the same period of last year.
There are 59 oil and gas fields, of which 18 offshore, the rest onshore in Azerbaijan.
