Iran has no joint gas and oil field with Caspian states, while the country has already started exploratory operations in Caspian waters, Managing Director of Khazar Oil Company Mohammad Osouli said today.
"The studies shows most of Iran's oil and gas reserves located in 500-800 meters under southern region of Caspian Sea," he said.
Iran oil and gas reservoirs in Caspian Sea are estimated to 15 billion barrels of oil and 11 trillion cubic meters gas.
He noted Iran has no problem in oil and gas production from Caspian Sea however Iran has no joint filed with any neighboring states.
Iran started the exploratory operation though Amir Kabir semi floating platform and plans drilling of 2 exploratory oil wells.
In recent years the neighboring states increased oil and gas production from Caspian Sea to more than 118 million tons.
Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan produced2.7 million barrels of crude oil, he added.
