Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Oct. 12 / Trend, H. Hasanov/
Intergovernmental negotiations will open between Turkmenistan and India in New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss issues related to the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
The official Turkmen source said the Ashgabat delegation was headed by Turkmen Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Bairamgeldy Nedirov.
The preparation of the Turkmen gas purchase and sale contract is expected to be a key issue. The contract will be signed this month.
The negotiations on the fuel price are actively held between the seller Turkmenistan and the potential buyers Pakistan and India.
The project is actively promoted by the Asian Development Bank. It financed the preparation of its feasibility study.
The basic document for the TAPI project is the intergovernmental agreement on the project realization, which was signed in Ashgabat on December 2010.
The TAPI with 17,000 kilometers in length and a design capacity of 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year has an estimated cost of about $7-8 billion.
