National Holding Company (NHC) "Uzbekneftegaz" plans to implement a project worth $42.3 million to increase capacity of refining bitumen oil and gas condensate at the Uzbek-Russian joint venture "Jarkurganneftepererabotka" (Surkhandarya, south of Uzbekistan) in 2012-2015, a representative of the Holding told Trend on Thursday.
He said the founder of the JV, the Russian company "Petromarys" (St. Petersburg), has developed a business plan to expand the production of oil products by increasing raw materials base of enterprise and expanding refining capacity. Under the business plan, production of oil products at the enterprise will increase twice by 2016. Including gasoline production will hit 49,500 tons, diesel fuel - 36,000 tons, furnace oil - 54,700 tons and paving bitumen - 98,000 tons.
The project is expected to be funded at the expense of the Russian company's investments worth $37.3 million and own funds of the enterprise - $5 million.
The project is included in the list of investment projects to expand production of competitive products based on existing enterprises, approved by Uzbek President Islam Karimov in early October.
The decree envisages the implementation of 50 projects worth $658 million.
