In January, 2012, Azerbaijan produced more than 3.9 million tons of crude oil and condensate, which is 4.5 percent less than the production in January 2011, the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee told Trend on Thursday.
In total, Azerbaijan produced 45.37 million tons of oil in 2011 compared to 50.83 million tons in 2010.
The bulk of oil production fell to Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) offshore fields and Shah Deniz gas condensate field, that are developed in cooperation with foreign partners.
Gas production was more than 2.4 billion cubic meters in January 2012, or 18.3 percent more than in January 2011. In particular, the volume of marketable gas in January was about 1.62 billion cubic meters or 32.9 percent more than in January 2011.
About 26 billion cubic meters of gas were extracted in the country in 2011 compared to 26.23 billion cubic meters of gas in 2010.
Azerbaijan generated 2.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in January, or 16.3 percent more than in January, 2011.
Azerbaijan generated more than 20 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2011, or 8.4 percent more than in 2010.
