Central Bank of Turkmenistan releases recent statistics on ATMs

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 6. Turkmenistan's total count of ATMs stood at 2,144 as of the beginning of April this year, showing no change from the prior month, Trend reports.

According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the capital, Ashgabat city, boasts the highest ATM concentration with 452 machines, followed by the Mary region with 443 units and the Lebap region with 437 units.

Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank holds the highest number of ATMs at 1,022 units, followed by Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank with 441 units and Turkmenbashi Joint-Stock Commercial Bank with 356 units.

Meanwhile, over the past seven years, the number of ATMs in Turkmenistan has more than doubled. Starting with 924 ATMs on January 1, 2016, the number surged to 2,145 by January 1, 2024.

Turkmenistan has showcased the sustainable development of its financial sector, evident in various facets of its economic system.

The adoption of contemporary technologies like electronic payments and the widening of the ATM network significantly enhance financial accessibility for the populace.
