The Minister for Communications & Information Technology, Ali Abbasov, met with the newly-appointed Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan, Nikolay Patskevich, Trend reports. The diplomat attributed the development of economic and political relationships with Azerbaijan as an original trend in CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).
The Ambassador stressed that the Governments attitude towards the development of the information and communications technology confirms the existence of a strategy on use of oil revenues. Patskevich appreciated the work done in establishing special economic zones in Azerbaijan and noted that similar work is done in Belarus in accordance with the presidential decree.
The Minister, in reply, informed the Ambassador of measures to be taken with regards to communication and information technology (IT) in Azerbaijan, about perspective project, and the possibility of co-operation with Belarus in this regard. Abbasov said that the newly-appointed Minister for Communications & Information Technology of Belarus, Nikolay Pantaley, had been invited to the 12th International Exhibition & Conference on Information Technology BakuTel 2006 to be held in October.
